Flooring Fact: environments

By giving your flooring a stable environment you allow it to preform at it’s best. No flooring whether it is tile, carpet, sheet vinyl, floating systems (laminate, lvt, lvp) or hardwood reacts well to huge changes in temperature and humidity.

A stable environment is achieved when temperatures remain between 15-26°C (60-80°F for the Americans in the room) and relative humidity (RH) is between 30-50% (for our climate zone in New Brunswick).

Prior to any install moisture testing should be conducted to verify that the appropriate parameters are in place for optimal floor performance. Always verify that your flooring installer has preformed moisture and RH testing.

Did you know that you can have a data logger installed in your floor system at the time of install? This device monitors the underfloor environment, the part you can’t see, for up to 10 years (battery life) and using a Bluetooth connection you can track this data through an app.
